Soc: Thompson out of Olyroos' Ivory Coast clash

Striker ARCHIE THOMPSON has been ruled out of the Olyroos' final Olympic group match
against Ivory Coast in Tianjin tomorrow with a foot injury.

THOMPSON had been in doubt after he was hurt during Australia's 1-0 loss to Argentina
in Shanghai on Sunday.

He will most likely be replaced in the starting line-up by Perth Glory's NIKITA RUKAVYTSYA,
who came on as a 72nd-minute substitute against the Argentines.

RUBEN ZADKOVICH, the goal scorer in Australia's opening 1-1 draw with Serbia, is also
in doubt after suffering a groin strain in the last match.

Australia must beat Ivory Coast in Tianjin if they are to have any chance of reaching
the quarter-finals.
